No money has been spent on the area because money is sadly being spent building up the massive tourist Industry that has now taken over Side. The area has Turkish hotels basic and cheap, if people book into these hotels you get what you pay for.
A cheap, Basic hotel. You've been in Side for many years, you will remember the one and only dirt track of a road coming from the airport into Side, none of us complained about that. I'm sure you can also remember walking into Side Town but along the beach, from the Alremu bar area, it was much quicker than by road. I don't mean along the new prom, to get into Side town you had to walk over the fallen ruins in the sea, you needed shorts on so as not to get wet.
But we loved it. It was different, It was Turkey. Your comments regarding the area and what we find acceptable home and away are slightly strange. We are talking about a road in Turkey not the UK.
Two completely different countries and cultures, a million miles apart. But not acceptable in the UK. I suppose what i'm saying Side has changed so much over the years as tourists have taken over, Kemer road is just still an old Turkish road that hasn't changed much, its had its problems but has come out the other side. Its used by locals and its the local shops and restaurants we should be supporting. I'm sorry you had to walk down the Kemer road, for a taxi, but i'm sure if you had gone into any shop or restaurant and asked them to call you a taxi they would have been more than happy to help you.
